A Note On City Skills

The "City Skills" listed in this AD&D Core Rules 2.0 data file are from the City of Splendors boxed set, which is also known as the Waterdeep boxed set. Since Calimport has been released I thought that these skills may also apply to that city. Therefore, I changed the name that these non-weapon proficiency skills originally had, replacing the word "Waterdeep" with "City". Under the description of the skill, this change is noted.

Also, in picking up various packages of non-weapon proficiencies over the web, I noticed two things that bear mentioning here. First, the other skill that is offered in the City of Splendors boxed set, Fashion, is included elsewhere. I did include it here with an altered name, as I added the reference extension and included the page and book in the source information. Second, the skill I have listed as "City Commerce I- City of Splendors" is also included in another archive. (Which one, I don't know.) In that archive, it is called simply "Commerce". I would delete that entry if you use these skills and have that one currently included on your personal non-weapon proficiencies list. It is nearly identical, but the name doesn't match and the description is not as complete (although all of the meat of the description is.) Compare them for yourself.

Finally, here are the non-weapon proficiencies included in the City Skills.xpt file:
City Commerce I- City of Splendors
City Commerce II- City of Splendors
City Lore I- City of Splendors
City Lore II- City of Splendors
City Lore III- City of Splendors
City Lore IV- City of Splendors
Fashion- City of Splendors

You will note that I have added a reference extension to the skill's name. This is because after downloading a couple of fairly comprehensive archives, I had more skills than I could remember and wanted something to put them into perspective. All offerings I make will include a reference extension.

Thank you,
Catherine Keene
